Funeral Notices On Your Website

Updated
16 June 2020

MuchLoved funeral widgets allow you to display your funeral notices on your website via a small snippet of code.

If you would like to add the MuchLoved widgets on your website you will need to contact your Account Managers. We will then provide you with the code for the following widgets:

1. Funeral listings widgets

The funeral listing widget will allow you to display your upcoming and recent funerals on your website. Your families will also be able to search for tributes via the search bar.

We offer two formats of the listing widget:

  • List format: which separates funerals into ‘Upcoming’ and ‘Recent Funerals’
  • Grid format: which is better for displaying greater numbers of funerals.

We can also provide branch-specific code for funeral directors with separate pages on their website for each of their branches, and who would like to display funerals managed by each branch.

2. Funeral Details Widget

The funeral details widget will allow your website to display the tribute details directly on your website. This will display individual details of any funeral selected by your website users from the listings/search display.

3. Client Feedback Reviews Widget

This widget allows you to display the feedback collected from families and display these as reviews on your website. You can also reply to reviews via your Partner Area and the replies will display on your website.

How to install the widgets

Announcements, Donations and Search

To host the funeral listing and funeral details code, you will need to create two additional pages as follows:

1. Funeral Listings page

This will display in the top navigation banner using a tab called 'Funeral Notices' or 'Tributes and Donations' or similar.

Step 1: Create a new page with the URL http://www.<main domain>/funeral-notices (or something similar)

Step 2: Add the code from the Funeral Listings text file you have been emailed by your Account Managers. This contains the code for the three widgets - Search, Upcoming Funerals and Recent Funerals.
Please note: Please check no extra <p></p> tags have been copied across when pasting the code into your CMS.

Step 3: Your Account Managers will also provide you with the CSS information, which allows you to add/amend any styling for widgets. Make any changes needed to match your website style.

2. Individual Funeral Details page

Step 1: Create a new page with the URL http://www.<main domain>/funeral-details (or something similar)

Step 2: Add in the code for the Funeral Details widget from the text file that has been emailed to you by your Account Managers

Step 3: Your Account Managers will also provide you with the CSS information, which allows you to add/amend any styling for widgets. Make any changes needed to match your website style.

Please note: The funeral details page is an additional page that should not be linked to any other page - the link will be via the ‘Service Details’ control in the entries generated by the funeral listings widget.
It’s also important to let us know if you use any other URL apart from /funeral-details for this page, as within the other widgets there are specific lines of code that point to this URL.

Step 4: We will add test funeral notices onto your account so you can see what the end result will look like when building the page. If you do not see any test data, please do let us know.

3. Reviews and Testimonials

Step 1: Create a new page on your website linked to the main menu called /funeral-reviews  (or something similar)

Step 2: Create a new page on your website linked to the main menu called /funeral-reviews  (or similar)

Step 3: Copy the code from the Client Reviews text file that your Account Manager has sent to you

Step 4: Your Account Managers will also provide you with the CSS information, which allows you to add/amend any styling for widgets. Make any changes needed to match your website style.

4. Summary of Client Reviews

You will also receive code for a simple summary widget that can be added to the website homepage or the testimonials page showing the average star rating of the reviews.

Notes:

Once you have copied all code across please check to ensure no extra lines of code or tags have been added such as <p></p> tags.

Our technical team will be on hand to assist with the integration of the widgets onto your website. Please don't hesitate to contact us if you need any assistance.
